Axiom (アクシオム) is a role-playing game developed by Koei. It is given the subtitle "Vessel of Penance, Bait Hides the Hook".

PlotEdit

A long time ago, there lived a beautiful paradise called Greenock. Nicknamed the "Eternal City", it flourished for thousands of years until a cataclysmic event separated the region from the mainland. This disaster marked the return of the dark priest Ulgullete who previously died at the hands of the hero Bandbull. The people were paralyzed with fear as their once-majestic temples became infested with monsters, thus beginning a dark age that lasted for a decade.

One day, the city elder Thomas had a prophetic dream and gathered twenty young people. Among them, he picked six righteous individuals, entrusting them to seek out the ancient wisdom of their ancestors and save Greenock from Ulgullete's reign of terror.

GameplayEdit

The player must lead a party of six characters beneath Greenock's labyrinths and uncover their secrets. Characters have access to three different classes: warrior, mage, and scholar. Each one is given their own traits that influence their usage of certain commands. They can be equipped with weapons and armor bought at the shop.

Exploration is done via first-person perspective. Caution is advised while moving as some levels are filled with traps to weaken the player's party. When encountering enemies, party members may choose to attack or cast magic spells. Note that some spells can only be used in camp mode. Defeating an enemy yields experience points and gold.
