Crimson Sea (紅の海, Kurenai no Umi) is a sci-fi action adventure game developed and released by Koei. It is one of their original flagship titles for the Xbox and it currently remains a console exclusive. The game combines elements from the Warriors titles and is, in some ways, the spiritual predecessor for the Dynasty Warriors: Gundam games. It was given a PlayStation 2 sequel.
Yoshiki Sugiyama is producer and Yoshihiro Kishimoto is the producer of the North American port. The composer is Yoshihiro Ike.
Story[]
In the future, Theophilus faces a mass alien invasion, with IAG members disappearing mysteriously. Private detective Sho, struggling financially, is hired by Live-D and becomes a B-rank agent. He leads G Squad, a group that aids survivors and terminates aliens. Sho adjusts to his new role and seeks the truth behind his new career.
Gameplay[]
The game, a blend of role-playing and action, allows players to play as Sho, a character who can interact with coworkers, purchase training sessions, and buy new equipment. During battles, Sho can use laser weapons, guns, or Neo-Psionics, each customizable for different effects. Combos use blade and gun attacks, and players can lock-on to targets and dash to avoid attacks. High-ranking missions unlock more items, with an S Rank unlocking the best versions.
