AdditionsEdit

  • Legend Mode from the previous Xtreme Legends title returns. In this title, characters share their stages together but players are only allowed to select one character at a time. Playing through these stages with different characters may change the manner of the stage's events and will have a different quote after the battle's conclusion. After a stage is completed once, the player is free to choose any character on their next run.
  • Seven new items are introduced.
  • An additional feature is Xtreme Mode in which the goal is to 1) survive as long as possible and 2) conquer and maintain China. Players start at original stats and weapons and upgrade using the blacksmith and shops which to purchase upgrades, items, etc. with points from battle. The blacksmith uses iron from crates, officers, supply captains, etc. and shops use the gold rewarded for completing objectives and overall battle performance. Characters will join the player through various means, up to six with three active in battle. They are given a choice of three and do not recover health after each mission.
  • The new Edit Mode allows players to equip any character's weapon to the newly created edit character. There is also a mode titled destiny mode in which character creation and serve a character from the three kingdoms. Players are initially allowed to choose from one of three weapons: pike, spear, and sword and gain access to more by doing well in a mission and killing supply captains. Players can also obtain points for gaining skills (such as 6-hit, ambush, and cavalry [one hit k.o. for hitting someone on a horse]) by completing objectives (i.e. win in 7 minutes, kill 50 people, etc.) The time frame is shorter than musou and free mode.
  • There are two additional challenge modes.
  • Players can download Dynasty Warriors 5 content with load original function. Edit characters can also be used in Free Mode when the original game is imported.

Gameplay ChangesEdit

There were only a few changes into the gameplay, but the effects had a big impact. They are as follows;

  • Flinching time for both the AI and the player has significantly increased, allowing whatever previously slow attacks to finally be fast enough to be unblockable, such as various endings of grounded musous, and various charge attacks. The extended flinching time has also fixed "desync" problems with some characters, such as Lu Xun's musou, Wei Yan's entire Square.png string, and Xu Huang's C3.
  • Any character with a heavy weapon (or any weapon in the case of Xing Cai and Cao Ren) will be immune to flinching to normal attacks while they themselves are attacking. This is more beneficial to characters with heavy 4th weapons, even more so to Da Qiao.
