Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 (真・三國無双 2nd Evolution, Shin Sangoku Musou 2nd Evolution) is a sequel to the PSP port of Dynasty Warriors. The game builds on the same gameplay formula as its predecessor while deriving content from Dynasty Warriors 5.

Gameplay[]

The game features a grid-based battle map with units fighting for control, with moving between adjacent squares taking 10 seconds. Players must defeat all enemy officers before a square can be conquered or protected. They can collect weapons and mounts, and Musou Rage is a gauge that refills over time.

Stages[]

The game introduces a unique stage tree for players to navigate, with each stage having two objectives. Clearing these requires repeated attempts to unlock new playable characters. The game also introduces treasure troves and villages, where players can recruit enemy officers and earn weapons or mounts. Village missions involve one-minute tasks, and players receive full health recovery.

Multiplayer Mode[]

Players can host mini-games online, with up to 4 people participating in a round. They can imped each other with unique items, targeting opponents with up and down buttons.

Bombs Away[]

A player is given a bomb to pass on, defeating enemies. If unavoidable, it explodes, resetting the player's KO count. Two figurines are available: one summons soldiers and the other summons juggernauts.

Sudden Death[]

Similar to its Dynasty Warriors 5 incarnation, the objective of this course is to defeat as many opponents without getting hit. Should the player receive damage, they will automatically be defeated and lose points in the process. The available items are the demon boots and spell scroll.

Time Attack[]

Players are made to race against each other and must reach the finish line first before their opponents do. If a participant is somehow defeated during the course, they are penalized by being brought back several spaces further from their previous spot. The available items are the demon boots and soldier figurines.

Battle Royal[]

Players knock each other off the stage's platform, with low health players being thrown farther. Respawning players lose points, so observe environment and opponent behavior. Available items are demon sword and spell scroll.

Trivia[]

  • Portraits for NPC officers are taken directly from Romance of the Three Kingdoms IX.
  • Samurai Warriors 2 cast appear as bodyguard officers in this title.
