The purpose of using aesthetic features in Fatal Inertia is to help distinguish players in online matches and additionally improve a vehicle's performance. New paint skins, emblems, and parts are obtained by progressing through Career Mode or achieving specific tasks in the other modes.

Engine Upgrades[]

Engine parts for the player's racecar affect how fast it can go and how quickly it can speed up, making it more powerful. The colors of the afterburners show how strong the engine is.

Paints & Emblems[]

Garage Mode lets players customize their vehicle's appearance with painted skins and emblems. These changes are purely cosmetic and won't affect performance. Choose from 6 paint sets with 40 options each, in gloss or metallic finishes, and single or two-tone colors. Texture can also be altered. Add one of 12 sets of front emblems, with 5 options each in black, white, red, blue, or green.
