Cheng Yin (onyomi: Tei Gin) is an officer who served Han Sui before joining Wei.
Role in Games[]
His only participation in battle throughout the Dynasty Warriors series is at Tong Gate as a member of Ma Chao's coalition. He is confused by Han Sui's defection in earlier titles. In Dynasty Warriors 6: Special he stays loyal to Ma Chao until Han Sui's ambush units surround him at Tong Gate. To save his own hide he decides to defect to Wei. He is also one of Ma Chao's support units at Mt. Ding Jun in Warriors Orochi.
Cheng Yin is an average officer in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, with battles skills in the 60's and 70's and the other stats being below average. He has a high cavalry rating and usually serves Ma Teng, Ma Chao or Han Sui.

Historical Information[]
Cheng Yin was a general controlling parts of Guanzhong. He was born in Hedong prefecture (河東) of Sidi commandery (司隷). When Cao Cao invaded Guanzhong, Cheng Yin joined a coalition resisting Cao Cao with Ma Chao, Han Sui, and others. However, the coalition was defeated in the Battle of Tong Pass and he fled with Hou Xuan to seek refuge under Zhang Lu in Hanzhong. When Zhang Lu surrendered to Cao Cao, Cheng Yin followed.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms[]
In the novel, he was one of the Eight Riders of Han Sui. Together with Ma Chao's army, he forced the surrender of Chang'an. He later fought against Cao Cao at Weinan, but he and his companion, Zhang Heng, were declared missing after the battle's conclusion, presumably having died in battle.
