Crown (クラウン) is a short-lived soldier under Char Aznable's command, one of the three named pilots who attack White Base near the beginning of the series. As the space-fighting groups dangerously neared Earth's atmosphere, Char gave the order for Crown to return to their well-defended starship immediately. Too gung-ho in his pursuit of the newly launched Gundam, Crown remained aloft in perpetual combat with the first-time flying Amuro Ray.
However, when the atmosphere begins to take its toll on the ships, he frantically realizes his Mobile Suit does not have the proper protection or tools to deal with the burn (Gundam does). Powerless to help, Char promises to not waste his death before Crown burns into ashes. Sadly, his death ultimately is in vain since Char fails in his following attack against White Base.
Atmospheric entry continues to be stressed as a serious danger throughout the series' canon; Crown's actions are a telling lesson for the worst case scenario.
Mission Mode[]
He doesn't appear within the game's original mode and is only mentioned within the first mission of Amuro's Official Mode. He is treated as the last enemy ace needed to be shot down in order to enter the atmosphere. His death sequence is given a pre-rendered movie within the game.
He appears more often in Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn as an unplayable pilot, but can be unlocked as a bodyguard.
Personality[]
Not much is known about Crown even within the Gundam canon. His cockiness and unwillingness to obey orders, however, lead to his end.
