Naotaka Ii is Naomasa's second son. Though not named his father's successor, he is said to have matched his father's prowess and capabilities. He is known as the family representative for the final wars of his time, leading troops in place of his physically weaker older brother.

Role in Games[]

He appears in battles after his father's death in the Samurai Warriors series, mainly appearing as one of the Tokugawa units at Osaka Castle. Samurai Warriors 4 adds an optional objective to save him from the generals around the Sanada ward. During Spirit of Sanada, he leads the secondary unit that charges into Sanada ward.

During the Edo Castle dream stage in Musou OROCHI Z, he fights beside his father to defend Ieyasu.

Naotaka appears in Kessen to replace his father's position by Ieyasu and proudly wears his father's armor when he succeeds him. Depending on how well the player performs, he becomes Ieyasu's general mid to late in the game and is well-praised for his services. Should Ieyasu win consecutively, Naotaka will replace his father unceremoniously and live to fight at Osaka Castle.

In the event that Ieyasu suffers a string of losses, Naomasa will be killed while serving as the rear guard for Ieyasu's escape at Hakone and utters his son's name before his death. Naotaka rides into battle swearing vengeance and develops a grudge against his father's murderer, Mitsunari. As he initiates a battle during the Edo campaign, he will have a special cutscene declaring his cause to rally his army.
