Katsumasa Shibata is Morimasa Sakuma's younger brother and Katsuie's nephew.
Role in Games[]
In Samurai Warriors 2 and the third title, he fights for the Shibata army at Shizugatake. During the latter title, Katsuie gives him the order to signal Toshiie's march once the tide favors Hideyoshi's forces.
In Warriors Orochi 3, Katsumasa serves as his uncle's replacement when players assume Katsuie's role.
Historical Information[]
The third son of Sakuma Moritsugu. He has the bad relationship with Shibata Katsutoyo and they both always have the quarrel. During the battle of Shizugatake, his army was pursued by the army of Wakizaka Yasuharu. In the record "Kansei Chōshū Shokafu" and "Hankanfu" record that he died in the battle. But some record that he was forgive from Hashiba Hideyoshi and became the vassal of Kanamori Nagachika. As for his death, it was recorded that he likely died while travel to Shikoku.
