Kayra Su (ケーラ・スゥ) is Astonaige's lover during the time frame in Char's Counterattack. As a pilot aboard Londo Bell, she supports Amuro Ray's formations in the war zone against Char Aznable's forces. After Char betrays the peace treaty he made with the Federation, Kayra acts as a fighter for the first wave against the Axis Asteroid. She hurries to pinpoint and stop Axis, but she is found out by a zealous Gyunei Guss.
Disabling her Re-GZ, he uses her distress to lure Amuro to them. She opens the hatch of her unresponsive Mobile Suit to beg her superior to not listen to the youth, but this prompts Gyunei to utilize one of his Jagd Doga's hands to grab her as a hostage. Amuro tries to comply to Gyunei's demands, but when he is put in danger, two of his fin funnels instinctively shoot to save him. An enraged Gyunei then hurls a defenseless Kayra into space, likely killing her from the force of his Mobile Suit's throw. Amuro is able to cradle her body back to Londo Bell and a mourning Astonaige shoves the ace aside to see her.
Mission Mode[]
Kayra appears randomly as an enemy during missions with Chan and Hathaway; she is the last to appear of the trio. The players are often asked to disrupt the rendezvous with the Jegan squadron.
Unlike Emma, there is no plausible way of saving Kayra from Gyunei during the Char's Counterattack Official Modes. Shooting down Gyunei beforehand will only trigger his retreat and eventual reappearance to apprehend Kayra.
Personality[]
Kayra is a pilot who is devoted to her wishes of protecting the earth from harm. A cheerful and loving individual when off duty, Astonaige mentions that she likes to eat salads and promised to make one for her when the conflict with Neo Zeon ended. Her piloting skills sadly do not match the strength of her strong convictions, as evidenced in her encounters with Rezin Schnyder and Gyunei.

Alternate MS[]
When the player finishes select missions throughout Mission Mode in Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2, they will unlock the ability to see characters in specific Mobile Suits during missions. These can either force the particular ace to become weaker or pilot another MS from another Gundam saga. The particular trait and MS for these conditions listed below are ones afflicting Kayra.
