Lu Fan (onyomi: Ryo Han) was a general of Wu. He joined Wu when Sun Ce prepared his attack on Jiangdong and was one of his closest subjects. He would later serve Sun Quan and defeat the Wei forces at Dongkou.
Contrary to popular belief, Lu Fan acted as Sun Ce's main strategist in many of the conqueror's campaigns while Zhou Yu himself was mostly absent during that time.
Roles in Games[]
Lu Fan appears as an officer for Wu in Dynasty Warriors, serving from the time of Sun Ce up to the end of their story.
At Jianye in Wei's hypothetical route, Lu Fan will activate ballistae when the Wei forces get past Lu Su at the dining hall. In Shu's hypothetical route, he will be one of the hidden fire attack units in Lukou that must be defeated to fulfill the stage's star condition.
In the eleventh installment of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms games, Lu Fan is a decent officer whose skill allows a faster production of naval vessels.

Historical Information[]
Lu Fan was from Runan in Yu Province. For a brief time, he served under the warlord Yuan Shu, but would later join Sun Ce after playing a game of Weiqi with him. He accompanied Sun Ce on the attack on Liu Yao and defeated him at Moling. He would also help in defeating Yan Baihu and Taishi Ci and be promoted to General of the Gentleman of the Household Who Pacifies Rebels. When Sun Ce died, he mourned his death before going to serve Sun Quan.
At Chibi, Lu Fan served under the command of Zhou Yu and later advised Sun Quan to marry his younger sister to Liu Bei in order to get Jing Province back. After the death of Guan Yu, Lu Fan was made Governor of Jianye. In 222, Cao Xiu invaded Wu at Dongkou. With the help of Xu Sheng, Sun Shao, and Quan Cong, Lu Fan repelled the Wei forces and was promoted to General of the Front. He became Commander-in-Chief in 229, but died shortly afterwards. His son Lu Ju succeeded him.
