Holy Land (聖地, seichi), alternatively translated as "Sanctuary" or "Sacred Land", is the name for a mystical location within the Angelique and Neo Angelique series. It is located at the center planet of a Queen's cosmos and is often on the primary planet. It is not known to exist in the cosmoses without a Cosmic Will.
In Holy Land, a Queen, her helper, and Sacred Guardians live luxuriously, overseeing the cosmos' development. Protected by a special barrier, they are immune to sickness, aging, and negative forces. The weather is always pleasant, and the fields are perpetually abundant. Any unusual occurrences, such as unexpected rain, indicate trouble in the cosmos, which the Queen promptly addresses by repairing the barrier. Time moves slowly within the barrier, preserving the youth of the Queen and her followers, leading people to perceive them as divine beings. However, the Queen must remain near the Cosmic Will and cannot venture far from Holy Land. The Queen's helper and the Sacred Guardians have the freedom to leave the barrier when necessary. Visitors and servants, including house workers, researchers, and assistants to the guardians, can come and go as they please, typically on short contracts to avoid the time effects of the barrier.
In the Angelique universe, Holy Land is a populated location with a palace and radiant structures which can be accessed by people permitted by the Queen. Neo Angelique describes it as a surreal palace meant only for the Queen. She watches over all of Arcadia while wishing for their eternal happiness.
