Sessai Taigen is Yoshimoto's uncle. He served as an adviser for his nephew in spite of his lack of formal training. After Yoshimoto's defeat at Azukizaka, he left Sessai largely in charge of military concerns. Sessai is famously recognized as Ieyasu's mentor during his hostage years with the Imagawa.
The Nobunaga no Yabou 201X poll for 4-star officers puts him in ninety-seventh place.
Role in Games[]
Samurai Warriors 3 has him make a minor appearance at Kawagoe Castle and is in the ranks of the combined Takeda-Imagawa army at Suruga-Sagami, defending the main camp until Yoshimoto's arrival.
He fills Yoshimoto's spot on the map if the player uses him in a team in Warriors Orochi 3.
Sessai first appears as a generic officer in Pokémon Conquest under Yoshimoto. He frequently warns his liege of the protagonist's invasion but is ignored.
The player can recruit him into Nobunaga's army in Kessen III if they defeat him at Okehazama.
Nobunaga no Yabou 201X Sessai observes the protagonist's capabilities from afar before abruptly ushering him/her before Yoshimoto. He is the one who suggests for his lord to rely on them.
