The Battle of Xiakou (夏口の戦い, rōmaji: Kakō no Tatakai) features a merging of Sun Quan's attacks against Huang Zu along the Chang Jiang in Jing Province. Gan Ning kills Ling Cao, the father of Ling Tong, starting a rivalry between the two once the former joins Wu after the battle.

Dynasty Warriors[]

In Dynasty Warriors 4, players face Huang Zu's unit on the West side of the Chi Bi map, attempting to raid the Wu Army's camp. Gan Ning, a tough enemy, appears in Hyper Mode and can be convinced to switch sides by defeating him. Zhou Yu informs of gunpowder on the ship, which can be used to burn the ships and demoralize the enemy. Ling Tong appears as reinforcements for Ling Cao, who can be defeated easily if the player doesn't protect him. If replayed on Musou Mode, Chen Sheng takes the place of Gan Ning, while in Free Mode, Gan Ning can face himself in a mirror fight.

In Dynasty Warriors 5, players can choose Sun Quan's forces or Huang Zu's forces. Sun Quan's objective is to stop Huang Zu's fleet and defeat him, while Huang Zu's forces are to protect the fleet and defeat generals and sub-generals. 2, Sun Ce's forces are isolated from the Wu forces, and Zhou Yu splits the forces to defeat Huang Zu's navy. Xiakou appears in Dynasty Warriors 7, using the recycled map of Ruxukou from Dynasty Warriors 6: Special.

In Dynasty Warriors 9, Xiakou is a part of Wu's story, and the main battle begins with Gan Ning ambushing Sun Quan's party. The main quest involves defeating Huang Zu, with five sub-quests to complete. Su Fei, Sun Shangxiang, Gan Ning, and Lu Meng must defeat Huang Zu's navy and archers. If Huang Zu's navy is defeated, he can activate siege weapons to defend Xiakou. Zhou Yu asks everyone to focus on Cao Cao's invasion. In Xu Shu's DLC scenario, Liu Bei's forces arrive to assist Huang Zu. Primary quests involve relieving the siege around Xiakou, rescuing Su Fei and Gan Ning, and offering an alliance against Cao Cao.

Warriors Orochi[]

During the first half of Wei's storyline, Cao Pi and Mitsunari are given the task of preventing Sun Ce's escape from Xia Kou. The battle begins with players positioned in the south with enemy troops including Naomasa Ii and Cheng Pu impeding their path. Sun Quan, and eventually Da Ji, act as third-party allies for this stage. As players make their way to the northern fortress, they must defeat Ranmaru inside before proceeding to the ports where Sun Ce and Zhou Yu are.
