Wang Fu (onyomi: Ō Ho) is an officer who served Liu Bei after the latter conquered Shu. He follows his lord in his campaigns against Wu, but was among the many who fell in the disastrous defeat. Romance of the Three Kingdoms portrays Wang Fu as Guan Yu's strategist in Jingzhou.

Role in Games[]

Wang Fu's only appearance in Dynasty Warriors 4 is at Mai Castle fighting under the last of the Shu armies under Guan Yu's care.

In Dynasty Warriors 8, Wang Fu first appears among Liu Zhang's officials at Chengdu. In Shu's camp at Fan Castle, Wang Fu's dialogue is dependent on whether or not Xu Shu was rescued at Chibi.

During the Xtreme Legends expansion, if Cao Bao successfully reaches him at Xiapi, he will open the doors, unknowingly allowing Lu Bu's forces to enter the castle.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms gives Wang Fu high Intelligence, Politics and Charisma as well as above average Leadership, his War stat however is fairly low in the 40s.

Historical Information[]

Originally, Wang Fu started served Liu Zhang as an Assistant Scribe. When Liu Bei seized of Sichuan, Wang Fu appointed as Prefect of Mianzhu County. In 219, Wang Fu serve as an Assistant Officer in the Bureau of Deliberations in Jingzhou. In 222, Wang Fu joined Liu Bei on a campaign against Sun Quan at Yiling but defeated and Wang Fu was killed by Wu soldier during covered Liu Bei retreated.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms[]

Romance of the Three Kingdoms dubs him the Grand Marshal of Peace who served Guan Yu. When Guan Yu left to attack Xiangyang, Wang Fu was uneasy about the Jing's defense towers and advised him against it, or to at least allow Zhao Lei to guard the province instead of Pan Jun. Both counsels were left unheeded. After Guan Yu's retreat from Fancheng, Wang Fu recommended for his lord to remain in Maicheng and sent requests for reinforcements from Meng Da and Liu Feng at Shangyong. He defended Maicheng after Guan Yu's departure and committed suicide upon hearing of his lord's death.
