Wang Jing (onyomi: Ō Kei) is an official of Wei. He supported Cao Mao's coup d'état against Sima Zhao only to lose his life doing so.
Role in Games[]
The Dynasty Warriors series has Wang Jing appear as a recurring Wei officer during Jin's scenarios. He is among those standing guard over Cao Mao in his throne room when the Sima clan's troops surround them during their coup.
In Warriors Orochi 3, Wang Jing is among Zhong Hui's officers at Luoyang and controls the palace's ballistae. He must be defeated in order for the Coalition forces to take the siege weapons.

Historical Information[]
Born to a family of peasants in Qinghe Commandery, Wang Jing rose to prominence within the Wei government thanks to the official Cui Lin. Although he received promotions within a short amount of time, his mother saw it as a bad omen. He was later made inspector of Yong Province.
During Shu's assault on Longxi Commandery, Wei responded by sending Wang Jing to attack from Didao. He did not perform well as expected and was rescued by Deng Ai and Chen Tai. He was recalled to Luoyang and reassigned to a different position.
When Cao Mao launched a coup to regain power, Wang Jing was one of three officials who were confided about it. His suggestions were ignored. For conspiring with the emperor, he and his mother were executed. In the year 266, Sima Yan decreed condolences for Wang Jing's family.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms[]
Romance of the Three Kingdoms introduces Wang Jing in chapter 110 where he and his troops fell for Jiang Wei's ambush at Didao. He later listened to Cao Mao venting his frustrations towards the Sima clan, sympathizing with his liege yet urging him not to rise against them. While Wang Shen and Wang Ye considered warning Sima Zhao of their lord's treachery, only Wang Jing chose to remain loyal. This did not exempt him from being collateral damage to Cao Mao's coup as he and his family were condemned as criminals for being sympathetic with the emperor. Wang Jing apologized to his mother Lady Zhao. The pair walk to their execution with a smile while the whole city wept.
