Pre-order the game or get the Treasure Box/Premium Box edition(s) to obtain codes for three costumes.
North America
Pre-order at Amazon.com for the Twilight Princess costume, Best Buy for the Skyward Sword costume, and GameStop for the Ocarina of Time costume.
United Kingdom
Purchase limited edtion for the Twilight Princess costume. Preorder from Shopto.net for the Ocarina of Time costume.

Register copy on the Club Nintendo website. Offer valid until end of October.

All costume sets were made available for purchase on December 18, 2014.

Japan sold the costume in three sets: Courage, Wisdom, and Power.

DLC Pre-order bonus Dark Link costume for Link

Also called the Hero of Hyrule Pack in some places, it is a series of event packs sold separately on the E-shop. Pre-purchase all DLC in a single pack to obtain Dark Link costume.

  • 2 new costumes: Pre-corrupted Cia & Lana Variation

Twilight Princess Pack
Was released in November. Includes:

  • A new character: Twili Midna
  • A new weapon for Princess Zelda: Dominion Rod
  • A new Adventure Mode Map
    • Comes with new 8-bit weapons and palette swap costumes for select characters.
  • 2 new costumes: a Postman costume for Link and an Ilia costume for Zelda

Majora's Mask Pack
Will be released in February in the Americas, but in January everywhere else. Includes:

  • 2 new characters: Young Link & Tingle
  • A new Adventure Mode Map
    • Comes with new 8-bit weapons and mask costumes for select characters.
  • 3 new costumes: Ocarina of Time costumes for Sheik and Impa as well as a Skull Kid costume for Lana.

Boss Pack
Will be released in North America on March while other regions receive it one month earlier. Includes 2 new game modes: Boss Challenge and Play as Ganon.

  • Beating Boss Challenge Mode for the first time unlocks new costumes for Link, Zelda, and Lana.
  • Beating Play as Ganon Mode for the first time unlocks new costumes for Ganondorf and Cia.

Exclusive to Ganon's Fury Mode.

All-in-One Event Pack 2Edit

A series of event packs sold separately on the E-shop. Unlike the 3DS version of the pack it will not include the pre-purchase The Wind Waker Costume for Ganondorf, the My Fairy content, the new Adventure Mode Maps, or the new re-color costumes resulting in the exclusion of the Master Wind Waker Pack.

Hyrule Warriors Legends ContentEdit

Also known as the Legends of Hyrule Pack, Purchase Hyrule Warriors Legends to receive a serial code. Register this code in the Wii U E-shop to download select additional content from the 3DS game for use in Hyrule Warriors. The content featured here will be was available as purchasable DLC on June 30th of 2016 as the Legends Character Pack.

Amiibo SupportEdit

Using various Amiibo figurines in conjunction with Hyrule Warriors will unlock content for the latter. Said content includes new weapons for select characters. 5 different Amiibo figurines can be used per day to randomly obtain materials, 3-star or lower weapon skins, or rupees.

Link & Toon Link AmiiboEdit

Using either Super Smash Bros. 4 Amiibos will unlock a new weapon for Link: the Spinner from Twilight Princess. After its first use to unlock the Spinner, multiple uses will unlock a randomly generated 3-star or higher weapon for him or Toon Link (if the player has him).

Zelda AmiiboEdit

Using Zelda's Super Smash Bros. 4 Amiibo will unlock a randomly generated 3-star or higher weapon for her. Can be used once per day.

Sheik AmiiboEdit

Using Sheik's Super Smash Bros. 4 Amiibo will unlock a randomly generated 3-star or higher weapon for her. Can be used once per day.

Ganondorf AmiiboEdit

Ganondorf's Super Smash Bros. 4 Amiibo will unlock a randomly generated 3-star or higher weapon for him. Can be used once per day.

Sword &amp; Shield - 1st DLC Weapon (HW)

DLC weapon skin included in patch.

Released in Japan as a patch. Already implemented in Western ports.

  • Challenge Mode is included.
  • 2D 8-bit replica Hylian Sword weapon skin for Link.
  • Option to change music during battle.
  • Health bug after defeat is fixed.
  • Victory music plays without glitching or shorting out.
  • Black screens of death from victory screens have been addressed.
  • Freezing bug for allowing online connection should no longer occur.
  • Repairs muting glitch for Gamepad only players.

  • Cia, Volga, and Wizzro become playable characters
  • Allows players to turn off mid-battle cinematics in every mode except Legend in the options menu. Works for both playable characters and bosses
  • Disabled the Weapon Swap glitch

  • Level cap is raised from 99 to 150 like in Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends.
  • Increases the amount of materials players can carry up to 999.
  • New potion mixtures are added to the Apothecary.
  • New medals are added.
  • Amiibo support is added.
  • Buffs have been made to various character movesets.
    • Lana's Spear moveset.
      • Its C3 now draws enemies into the blast.
      • Its C2 and C5 leave her closer to the ground.

  • New medals are added.
  • New weapon skills are added.
  • New features are added to the smithy.
    • Can remove an unwanted weapon skill at the cost of 300,000 Rupees.
    • Can sell weapons directly without exceeding maximum inventory.
    • Can identify a sealed skill by spending (10x KO's remaining) Rupees.
  • New info added to Adventure Mode.
    • Total damage taken can be seen on pause menu.
    • Players can restart stages without returning to the map.
  • Buffs have been made to various character movesets.
    • Zant's Scimitar moveset.
      • Players can now dash-cancel out of his C5.

Link DLC 10 - HW

DLC costume included in patch.

  • Prepares Wii U users to transfer new characters in Hyrule Warriors Legends. Adds a Link costume based on his design from the first Legend of Zelda game.


  • Includes the new playable characters from Hyrule Warriors Legends as well as Ganondorf's trident as a usable weapon. Enter the 16-digit code in the Nintendo eShop. The code comes with the packaged game or on the digital receipt for the downloadable version.

  • Adds compatibility for the Legends of Hyrule Pack.
