The Battle of Ji Province (冀州の戦い, rōmaji: Kishū no Tatakai) is the fictional final battle between Cao Cao and Yuan Shao.

Role in Games[]

Dynasty Warriors[]

In Dynasty Warriors 4, the Yuan Family's last stand is a battle where players can defeat officers to cause bickering and defection. In Dynasty Warriors 5, the stage is a battle between Yuan Shao and the Yellow Turbans, with players overcoming tricks and facing Zhang Jiao head-on.

Warriors Orochi[]

In Warriors Orochi, a Dream Stage is present for Wu, where players must defend against Tadakatsu Honda's forces. The player must defeat Tadakatsu twice to gain his trust. In Warriors Orochi 2, Zhang Jiao, Pang Tong, and Zuo Ci face Nene's ninja army using ninjutsu. They conjure phantom soldiers to prevent the ninja troops from reaching the alter guarded by Zhang Liang. Kunoichi uses her ninjutsu powers to seal the alter, and the group must defeat her to unseal it. Kotaro Fuma and other spy captains must be defeated to liberate the alter. Nene summons whirlwinds, and the group must defeat them. The phantoms advance, defeat Goemon Ishikawa, and Hideyoshi's army. Hanzo Hattori strengthens Nene and Hideyoshi's army, and the group must defeat him to eradicate his ninjutsu. Zhang Jiao orders a full-scale assault, which Nene counters. Defeating Nene brings victory to the allied forces, while Zhang Liang's defeat causes the alter to fall.

The Yellow Turban altars at Ji Province have torii gates added to consecrate the sites, suggesting a form of syncretism being developed due to the coexistence of people from the Three Kingdoms and Sengoku eras.
