Historical Information
Edit
During his young adult years, Mao Jie was nominated as an official in his home county of Pingqui for his loyalty and conduct. As time went on, he came to serve Cao Cao as an attendant at Xuchang. It was he who advised his lord to use the Emperor's influence in commanding the other officials and maintaining order.
Mao Jie was then given the task of electing new officials for Cao Cao, a position he had kept even after the formal establishment of Wei. But because of his positive ties with Cao Pi, his life would take a turn for the worse. He was immediately deposed due to false allegations made by Bai Jie, a supporter of Cao Zhi. Forced to retire in disgrace, he eventually died due to natural causes.
