Masahisa Sakai is an officer of relatively unknown origin who is said to have first served Dōsan Saitō. His manner of joining Nobunaga and personal reasons for doing so are still unclear. Before his death, he was said to have performed a brave, lone raid against the thousands surrounding him.

Role in GamesEdit

In Samurai Warriors 2 and its following title, Sakai is only present during Anegawa in the Oda-Tokugawa forces. He will hold out against the charging Nagamasa but will eventually be killed by the Azai leader.

Historical InformationEdit

Born in Mino, Masahisa was a former vassal of the Saitō who participated in Nobunaga's campaigns including the attack on Shōryūji Castle. After losing his son Kyūzō Sakai during the siege of Odani, Masahisa soon followed at the battle in Katada. Headship over the Sakai clan was immediately handed over to his second son.
