Mystic Heroes (バトル封神, Batoru Houshin) is an action revamp of the original strategy RPG, Fengshen Yanyi, alternatively known under the Japanese pronunciation of the title, Houshin Engi. The game's opening implies that the events in the story take place after Fengshen Yanyi 2, thus using the same visuals of the second game. It's the last entry in Koei's Fengshen Yanyi series.
The game Mystic Heroes is a unique Koei game for Nintendo GameCube, with a PlayStation 2 adaptation called Cho Battle Houshin in Japan. It also features a Game Boy Advance tie-in called Magical Fengshen, allowing players to play both games to unlock rare items. The game has four main characters in GameCube and eight in PlayStation 2.
Story[]
Emperor Kang and his wife Sheva ruled a legendary land, but Tai and Naja sealed them away in Mt. Houshin, restoring peace. Kang's son Cyrus and his army, along with Shiga and Lani, saved the land. Now, Kang, Sheva, and Generals Grifon and Kai plan to escape, using the Dragon Star to free them.
