Role in GamesEdit
He is one of the Wei generals in the Ji Castle Legend Mode of Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends. Yin Feng is one of two generals who is stationed within the castle's walls. He will enter a hyper state if he is approached by Ma Chao or Pang De. He returns as a generic in Dynasty Warriors 7: Xtreme Legends during Wang Yi's Hero Mode.
- "Solidify the defenses and prepare for the enemy attack!"
Yin Feng was born in Liangzhou, Hanyang Commandary (modern day Gansu). He began his career as an officer in his homeland, and his reputation was on the rise at the same time as his fellow officers Yang Fu, Jiang Xu, and Zhao Ang. Like his fellow officers, he took part in the defense against Ma Chao in 213. He was stationed with Zhao Ang and his wife at Qishan.
In 214, he learned that Ma Chao plotted to kill him so Yin Feng colluded with Zhao Qu –a resident of Jicheng at the time– to allow his entry into Jicheng. As Ma Chao led his forces in pursuit of Yin Feng, their ally Jiang Xu led his forces from Lucheng to attack Ma Chao's abandoned main camp. Yin Feng and Zhao Qu then occupied Jicheng and repelled their adversaries' advance. After Jiang Xu drove Ma Chao away from his headquarters, Yin Feng and Zhao Qu captured Ma Chao's wife and child and had them executed. Ma Chao suffered grave losses from the assault and had to flee to Hanzhong.
Sometime during 221, Yin Feng was promoted to be Governor of Dunhuang. Zhao Qu, Huang Hua, and other local nobility of the commandary opposed his post due to their dissatisfaction with his Officer of Merit, Zhang Gong. Although Zhang Gong was the one who remained in his favor, Yin Feng decided to not oppose the nobility and left his post.
Romance of the Three KingdomsEdit
Yin Feng only appears in chapter 64 in Romance of the Three Kingdoms in which he is fictionally described as one of Jiang Xu's subordinate officers. He supported Zhao Ang at Qishan, and they attacked the rear of Ma Chao's army when the armies met at Licheng. Yin Feng remained at his post near Zhao Ang throughout the conflict, staying on the fields of battle near Qishan or Licheng. When Ma Chao and his forces later invaded Licheng, he and his troops slaughtered the residents within Yin Feng's household to avenge the loss of his wife and troops.
