Speculated to have been born in 1580 or 1581. Also known as Yoshitane (吉胤) and Yoshikatsu.

Yoshikatsu Ōtani (大谷 吉勝) is a man who is argued to either be Yoshitsugu's eldest son or younger brother and was Yukimura's younger brother-in-law. Like his relatives, he continued to serve the Toyotomi family after Hideyoshi's death.

Role in Games[]

Yoshikatsu is identified as Yoshitsugu's son and appears for the Toyotomi side in the Samurai Warriors series. He is a general at Kuzegawa and continues to appear during the twilight years of the age. In Kojirō's story for the the second Xtreme Legends expansion, he challenges the swordsman to avenge his father's death at Sekigahara. His declaration spurns a smarmy remark from Kojirō, who isn't impressed by the bravado.

Quotes[]

  • "Your father was proud to have died on that battlefield. You should have died with him."
~~Kojirō speaking to Yoshikatsu about his father; Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends
